DCP ARMOUR Warranty Terms

Edition 1, October 2026. These terms apply to every DCP ARMOUR warranty unless the warranty certificate says otherwise. The certificate, these terms and the registered project form the whole warranty.

1. The three warranties

ARMOUR Material Warranty (Standard level). DCP warrants that the DCP products supplied for the system meet their published technical data sheets at delivery and for 5 years from completion. Remedy: replacement of non-conforming product, or a refund of its price.

ARMOUR System Warranty (Enhanced level). DCP and the applicator jointly warrant, for 10 years from completion, that the ARMOUR system stays watertight under the water exposure it was selected for, and that the products meet their data sheets. Remedy: DCP and the applicator find and repair the leak, including the labour and materials for that repair.

ARMOUR Assured Warranty (Premium level). As the System Warranty, for 15 years below ground and in water-retaining structures and 10 years on exposed roofs and decks, and including re-injection of the injection hoses and any leak investigation needed to find the source.

2. Who gives the warranty

The Material Warranty is given by DCP. The System and Assured Warranties are given jointly by DCP and the applicator named on the certificate; each is responsible for its own work, and DCP coordinates the response to a claim.

3. Conditions

  • The project is registered with DCP before work starts, with the ARMOUR system, the level and the area it covers.
  • Enhanced: the applicator holds a DCP ARMOUR Trained Applicator certificate. Premium: a DCP ARMOUR Approved Applicator certificate, current on the date of the work.
  • The system is built as its ARMOUR Spec Pack and specification describe, with DCP products throughout, and every hold point in the Spec Pack is signed off (Enhanced: one witnessed by DCP; Premium: all).
  • The records listed for the level are handed to DCP within 30 days of completion: batch numbers, test results, photo records and, for Premium, the as-built joint and injection-hose layout.
  • DCP has been paid in full for the products, and the applicator for the work.
  • The owner keeps the system in use as designed and carries out the maintenance in the handover pack (for example, keeping drains and outlets clear and renewing exposed sealants and topcoats at the stated intervals).

4. What is not covered

  • Structural movement or cracking beyond the design limits of the system (for example cracks wider than the barrier is rated to bridge), settlement, or structural failure.
  • Water exposure above the level the system was selected for, or a change of use of the space.
  • Damage by others: later trades, fixings or drilling through the waterproofing, impact, fire, vandalism, chemicals not stated in the specification, roots where no root barrier was specified.
  • Defects in work not done by the applicator, including the concrete, drainage, falls, joints by others and work outside the registered area.
  • Natural events beyond reasonable control: flood above the design level, earthquake, storm beyond the design basis.
  • Cosmetic changes that do not let water in (colour change, chalking, staining).
  • Indirect or consequential loss: loss of use, rent, profit, contents, or damage to finishes, fit-out and stock, except where the law does not allow it to be excluded.

5. Limit

For any one project, DCP's total liability under the warranty is limited to the price paid for the DCP products for the registered area (Material Warranty) or to [twice] that price (System and Assured Warranties), in addition to the repair itself. The applicator's liability is set in its own certificate.

6. Making a claim

  • Tell DCP in writing within 30 days of finding the leak or defect, with the certificate number and photos.
  • Give DCP and the applicator access to inspect within 14 days, and do not open up or repair the waterproofing before the inspection, except to prevent further damage.
  • DCP confirms within 14 days of the inspection whether the claim is covered and, if it is, agrees a repair programme. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period, except that the repaired part is covered for the rest of the period or 2 years, whichever is longer.

7. Transfer

The warranty passes to a later owner of the building for the rest of the period if DCP is told in writing within 60 days of the sale.

8. Law

The warranty is governed by the law of the country where the project is built. These terms do not reduce any rights the owner has by law.
