The challenge
Elegant Heights is a residential apartment complex in Rewari, Haryana. The project specified self compacting concrete (SCC) that was highly flowable and non-segregating. It had to spread through congested reinforcement and fill the formwork under its own weight without vibrators, to speed up the programme. The concrete also had to be durable, with a smooth, uniform surface even where reinforcement was congested.
The DCP solution
DCP supplied Supaflo PC780M, a polycarboxylate ether (PCE) based superplasticiser for self compacting concrete. It gave a mix with good rheology, high flow, high strength and durability, minimal initial bleed and low air content. It gave three hours of workability retention and low stickiness, so the concrete was easy to pump.

How it was applied
Supaflo PC780M was added to the concrete as a superplasticiser to produce self compacting concrete. The concrete was pumped and flowed into the formwork and congested reinforcement under its own weight, without vibration.
