The challenge
Ferndown Forest Golf Club built new padel and pickleball facilities, including one outdoor pickleball court and two padel courts. The surfaces had to resist temperature changes, UV and weather without loss of performance or safety. The pickleball court needed good traction, consistent ball bounce and player comfort, to professional safety and durability standards. As the courts open seven days a week, the materials also had to be low maintenance and long lasting.
The DCP solution
Sports-Cote Premium was supplied in three colours and applied in stages over a prepared asphalt base. The asphalt gave a stable foundation. Dark Blue marks the boundary areas, Standard Blue the centre playing area for contrast with the ball and lines, and Standard Green the surrounds. The system gives traction, consistent bounce, comfort, safety and long term durability with little maintenance.

How it was applied
- Start from a prepared asphalt base.
- Apply Sports-Cote Premium Dark Blue to the boundary areas of the court.
- Apply Sports-Cote Premium Standard Blue to the centre playing area.
- Apply Sports-Cote Premium Standard Green to the surrounding areas.
The result
The finished court met the requirements for traction, consistent ball bounce, player comfort, safety and long term durability, with low maintenance to suit seven day operation.
