The challenge
Indiabulls was building two residential projects on Dwarka Expressway, Gurgaon: Enigma (luxury apartments) and Centrum Park (apartments and villas). Concrete had to perform in Delhi summer temperatures of 35°C to 45°C. Indiabulls asked for one admixture solution covering grades M25 to M40, with stone dust in the mix. One project was to use a PCE based admixture and the other an SNF based admixture. The concrete had to stay pumpable after 120 minutes at 35°C. Mixes used OPC 53 grade cement, fly ash, 10 mm and 20 mm coarse aggregate, and stone dust from Kotputli.
The DCP solution
The DCP technical team proposed high performance admixtures from the Hyperplast and Supaflo ranges. DCP studied the local materials and ran mock up trials on site to find the best dosage. Hyperplast PC711 was recommended at 0.6% to 1% by weight of cement. Supaflo R3 was recommended at 1% to 1.4% by weight of cement. Both gave the required workability and strength.
DCP products used
How it was applied
- Study the project materials: OPC 53 grade cement, fly ash, 10 mm and 20 mm aggregate and stone dust.
- Run mock up trials on site for grades M25, M30 and M40.
- Dose Hyperplast PC711 at 0.6% to 1% by weight of cement (Centrum Park site).
- Dose Supaflo R3 at 1% to 1.4% by weight of cement (Enigma site).
The result
The admixtures gave concrete workability and strength that met the project requirements.
