The challenge
The housing society is near Powai lake in Mumbai, with high humidity and alternating wet and dry seasons. For maintenance, the contractor and consultant needed a coating with several protective properties and a good matt finish.
The DCP solution
DCP proposed Repcoat FF, one product that gives anti-carbonation, waterproofing with breathability and anti-bacterial and antifungal properties, in a wide range of colours at a reasonable cost. Cracks were first repaired with Flexseal PU440, an elastic, over-paintable, UV resistant polyurethane sealant, and Flexseal GA700, an acrylic sealant.

How it was applied
- Open cracks to a V groove.
- Fill the grooves with Flexseal PU440.
- Cover the sealed grooves with one coat of Flexseal GA700.
- Apply one primer coat over the whole area.
- Apply two thick coats of Repcoat FF to a total dry film thickness of 150 to 200 microns.
